At Flipp, our core architectural principle is simple: all document processing happens entirely inside your browser. Your privacy is not an afterthought; it is built into the fundamental design of our tools.
Because your documents never leave your device, we cannot see, store, or share them.
Local Processing of Files
When you use Flipp to merge, split, convert, or otherwise manipulate a PDF file, the work is performed by your computer or mobile device.
- PDFs are processed locally: We use JavaScript running directly in your web browser.
- Documents never leave your device: Your files are never uploaded to any server or cloud service.
- We cannot view your documents: Because no file is uploaded, Flipp has absolutely zero access to your document's contents.
- No content is stored: We do not keep any backups, logs, or copies of the files you process.
Information We Collect
Because you do not need an account to use our core PDF tools, we collect very little information.
- Website Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand basic, anonymous usage patterns (such as which tool is most popular or what region our traffic comes from). This helps us improve the website.
Information We Do Not Collect
To be perfectly clear about what we do not have access to:
- Document contents: Your PDFs, images, text, and signatures remain on your device.
- Personal Information: We do not collect your name, email address, physical address, or phone number since there are no accounts.
- Payment Information: Our core tools are free, and we do not process payments.
Cookies
We use cookies to enable website analytics (via Google Analytics). These cookies assign a unique, anonymous identifier to your browser to help us track page views and interactions. We do not use cookies for advertising or selling your data.
Local Browser Storage
While you use our tools, some scripts may temporarily utilize your browser's local storage or memory to hold files while they are actively being processed. This storage is completely managed by your browser locally on your device, and is typically cleared when you close the tab or refresh the page.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a few trusted third-party providers for basic website operations:
- Hosting (Cloudflare Pages): Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As is standard with almost all web hosting, Cloudflare automatically generates server logs that may capture basic connection data (like IP addresses, browser types, and access times) to ensure the security and reliability of their network.
- Analytics (Google Analytics): Used strictly to monitor anonymous site traffic.
Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal information or user files, there is no user data for us to retain or delete. Analytics data is aggregated and automatically anonymized or purged over time according to Google's standard retention policies.
Data Security
The best security is not having the data in the first place. By designing our entire architecture around client-side processing, we eliminate the risk of a data breach exposing your sensitive files. They simply never reach our servers.
International Users
Flipp can be accessed globally. Since your files never leave your device, processing occurs in whatever jurisdiction you are currently located. Our website hosting infrastructure is distributed globally by Cloudflare.
Children's Privacy
Flipp does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal information or store user accounts, the traditional requests to "delete my account" or "send me my data" do not apply. However, you can manage analytics cookies at any time through your browser's privacy settings.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our tools or website infrastructure. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
